Pushing the Boundaries of Free Speech in Cuba

Posted: 09 Mar 2016 11:12 AM PST

Ahora dice Ernesto Londoño, del cuerpo de editores del New York Time, que la politica de Obama ya esta dando resultados. Se basa en un articulo de opinion del periodico Vanguardia donde el articulista dice: "Cuban baseball has reached a point where the only things that create a stir are defections, brawls and abrupt resignations,". Or is it that the current alternatives are unappealing?

Since the thaw with Washington, Cubans have begun to debate once-taboo subjects and criticize their government more boldly.

Es el embargo, stupid!
But a ban on general tourism to Cuba will remain in force. It is part of the broader U.S. embargo and can only be lifted by Congress. Obama has called for an end to the embargo but Republicans say that will not happen during his presidency, which ends in January 2017
